DGCA has issued a decree to the airlines for keeping the middle seat in the flight empty due to Coronavirus infection. DGCA has said that airlines should book tickets accordingly so that the position between two passengers can remain empty.
However, the DGCA has also said that if the number of passengers is high and it is not possible to keep the middle seat vacant, then in such a situation, the security of the middle passenger should be strengthened. While all three passengers belong to the same family, there is no need to keep the middle seat empty.
The DGCA has said that if the passenger has to issue tickets on the middle seat due to excess passengers, then in such a situation, special care should be taken for the safety of the person sitting on that seat. Three-layer masks and face shields should be available to such passengers so that the infection of the coronavirus can be avoided entirely.
All airlines should set and maintain on the guideline of DGCA
Please tell that this issue of safety of passengers had reached the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court. The Bombay High Court had ordered the vacant middle seat in flight because of social distancing.
This decision is challenged in the Supreme Court, on the hearing of which the Supreme Court said that full trips could be run only for ten days because the booking has already made. After this, the booking will not be taken on the middle seat.
The DGCA has released its new guidelines saying that keeping in mind the instructions of the Supreme Court, an expert committee was constituted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on 26 May, given the safety of passengers.
The committee has submitted its suggestions to the ministry. Based on the idea, it has been decided that all passengers will be given full security, due to which airlines will not book middle seats. If this has to do, then the safety of the passenger has to be taken care of.
