Interestingly when her sister went for tests, the doctor revealed she has Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome in which a person is born male genetically but has physical traits of women. The 30-year-old Bengal woman belongs to Birbhum resident and is married for last 9 years.

The Bengal woman visited Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Cancer Hospital after having severe pain in her abdomen, after getting checked by oncologist Dr. Anupam Dutta and Dr. Soumen Das her actual identity was discovered.

Talking about the Bengal woman, she has all traits of women including her voice, breasts, and external genitalia but has no uterus and ovaries since birth. The women has also not experienced menstruation.

However, the condition of Bengal woman is very rare and is found in one in every 22,000 people. According to reports, Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome is in their genes and two of her aunts are also suffering from the same condition.
