The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) informed Supreme Court today that it has cancelled CBSE and ICSE 10th, 12th July exams amid COVID-19. As per reports, the Board will not conduct CBSE and ICSE 10th exams and an option will be given to class 12th students to appear in the exams after the condition of the country gets better.
Last week, the Supreme court asked the Board to cancel the CBSE and ICSE 10th, 12th July exams as the number of coronavirus cases have increased rapidly in India. It should be noted that SC gave the suggestion of scrapping the CBSE and ICSE 10th, 12th exams after parents filed a plea for cancellation of remaining board exams in the view of growing coronavirus cases.
CBSE and ICSE 10th, 12th board exams cancelled
In the plea, parents requested SC to cancel the remaining exams as it will be dangerous for the children to give exams in exam centres at this time. They also requested to mark students according to previous assessments and practical exams held in March.
As per reports, the Board will consider conducting class 12th exams in future after the condition gets better. However, the delay in exams will clash with the Admission process of universities. The result based on assessments will be declared around July 15th will which help them to appear for entrance exams. Meanwhile, the information regarding assessment exams will be given tomorrow.
