A part of Delhi Army HQ in the heart of the national capital was sealed on Friday after a soldier tested positive for coronavirus, according to officials.
“One soldier tested positive for Covid-19. The affected area of Sena Bhawan has been sealed to contain the infection,” the official said.
He further said that Actions are per protocol such as contact tracing and quarantine are in progress and will be done soon.
The novel coronavirus is rapidly increasing and the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in India rose to 81,970 and total death tolls to 2,649 till Friday.
Earlier in the day, The World Bank approved $1 billion to support the nation’s efforts for providing useful amenities to the poor and vulnerable households, who are severely impacted by the pandemic.
The support from World Bank just came a day after finance minister Sitharaman unveiled the second trenches of 3.16 trillion.
