1,500 industrial units and 230 construction projects (construction projects) have been allowed to start work in Noida and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh, adjoining Delhi. It is expected that there will be a massive scale migration of laborers in the NCR, and the wheel of the economy will catch some momentum. With this, more than 1.10 lakh workers will get work.
It is worth noting that since the central government relaxed several types of lockdown in the third phase of the lockdown, the industry was pressurizing that the industrial units of Noida and Greater Noida be allowed to start work. However, due to the presence of hotspots or corona-positive patients in nearby societies, the administration was not allowed to work in many places.
When a big industry like Samsung started, there was a demand from the rest of the industry that they should be allowed to start work. According to officials, with the start of work on these industrial units and construction sites, more than 1.10 lakh workers will get the job. These units were closed due to the ongoing ‘lockdown’ to prevent the coronavirus epidemic.
Noida-Greater Noida’s 1500 unit, 230 construction project
According to the news agency PTI, Noida Authority’s Chief Executive Officer Ritu Maheshwari said that about 1,150 industrial units had been allowed to start work. It employs about 65,000 workers. Apart from this, approval has been given to start 24 residential projects (group), 65 industrial/commercial construction works, and 40 other construction projects.
Significantly, the lockdown has been implemented in the country since March 25, and now its third phase is going on. In the first phase, business and industry were stalled entirely, due to which industry lost several lakh crores of rupees.
