Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan: The novel coronavirus has affected many lives across the country in the last six months. In India, thousands of migrants have lost their jobs due to the lockdown. Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman talked about a new scheme for migrants titled Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan which will provide them jobs.
It should be noted that many migrants lost their jobs amid COVID-19 when they returned to their hometown. The central government will soon launch the Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan which will provide them employment. It will be launched on June 20 by PM Narendra Modi.
PM Modi to inaugurate Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan scheme for migrant workers
The scheme will be launched in 116 districts of six states of the country and Cheif Ministers will join the PM in a conference call in order participate. The scheme has costed the Rs 50,000 crore and 25 different kinds of work will be offered to the migrants. The 6 states included in the scheme are Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
As per the government, the Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan will help 25,000 workers and the skill mapping of workers has already been done. Now, it will be interesting to see how much the scheme actually help migrants.
