Delhi surpassed Mumbai: Coronavirus has affected many countries across the world, India is also one of them with more than 490,401 active COVID-19 cases. As per the latest report, Delhi surpassed Mumbai recently as the number of cases are increasing in the national capital rapidly.
So far Delhi which has a population of 18 million and recorded 73,780 infections and 2,429 deaths currently. Talking about Mumbai, it has a population of 20 million and coronavirus cases have gone up to 70,878 with 4,062.
How Delhi surpassed Mumbai in coronavirus?
However, Delhi surpassed Mumbai recently with the highest jump of fresh infections on Tuesday, 3,947 cases were reported which is the highest single-day spike. Currently, the national capital has 26,586 active cases which are half the number of COVID-19 cases registered till now.
It should be noted that Delhi reported its first case on March 2 and now 3,320 cases are being reported on an average for seven days. However, the count in Mumbai is 1,134 which is way less than Delhi. However, Delhi has not crossed Mumbai if we compare the proportion of death.
Delhi surpassed Mumbai in June when the cases increased rapidly. Earlier, Mumbai was one of the most affected state in India and now its the national capital. Talking about Chennai, it has recorded 47,650 Covid-19 cases and 694 deaths.
