As per the latest reports, the Indian Railways announced today that all regular trains, mail express, passenger and suburban services will remain closed till August 12. It should be noted that earlier the government had suspended these trains till June 30.
However, the special trains that been running since May and June will continue to operate. These trains include special passenger trains, 30 Rajdhani trains, and 200 mail express. Indian Railways has decided to cancel the regular trains to curb the spread of coronavirus which has rapidly increased across the country.

As per reports, people who had already made the bookings from July 1 to August 12 will get a refund in their respective bank accounts. According to railway officials, special trains like suburban trains and Shramik Special trains which were started for migrants will continue to operate until further notice.
As per Indian Railways guidelines, passengers who book their tickets from the counter will get a refund in six months. The TDR can be submitted to the chief claim officer and the refund will be processed soon. Bookings can be done after Indian Railways announces its decision to re-open the regular trains, however, Railway Ministry is planning to announce more regular trains during the lockdown. It should be noted that passenger trains have been cancelled since March 22.
