India has banned 59 Chinese mobile applications which include WeChat, Tik Tok, Share It, UC Browser, and others. As per reports, India’s decision to ban 59 Chinese apps has been a trending topic on social media in China today.
Yesterday, the Information and Technology Ministry suspended 59 Chinese apps days after India-China violent face-off. Today, Millions of Chinese took to social media app Weibo like Twitter in India and discussed the issue and reason behind govt’s decision.
According to sources, since morning this topic has been viewed 63 million times with 4000 threads of active discussions on Weibo. After the news breaks out many Chinese citizens alleged that they will boycott Indian products too but could not find any at their home.
India bans 59 Chinese apps amid border tensions
As of now, Chinese apps have commented on the decision but it will be a big loss for them as Tik Tok was a trending and most used app in India. The decision to ban 59 Chinese apps was also taken to secure the state secrets and national security.
The India-China violent clash on June 15th killed 20 Indian soldiers and many were injured. The differences between both the countries are still going on. Companies like Xiaomi and others will also incur huge losses.
