Lightning incident kills 6 in Bengal’s Murshidabad district

As per the latest reports, 6 people were killed after the lightning incident in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district. Out of 6 people, three were killed in Sagardighi district and the other three died at Bharatpur.

As per the latest reports, 6 people were killed after the lightning incident in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district. Out of 6 people, three were killed in Sagardighi district and the other three died at Bharatpur.

The three people killed in Sagardighi also include a woman, apart from these three, 2 people were badly injured. Police identified all the 6 people killed in the lightning incident as Samar Mondol (30), Bharati Mondol (40), and Shibram Mahato (45), Imtiyaz Alam (19), Motichand Ali (37) and Shefali Sheikh (55). Two people Rajbula Mondol and Tetri Mahato who were severely injured were sent to the hospital immediately.

Bengal: 6 people killed in the lightning incident 

According to police three of them were working on a brinjal farm when the lightning incident happened and the other three were returning home from the field. Meanwhile, few districts in south Bengal were also hit by lightning and thunder on Saturday afternoon and Kolkata witnessed a storm with a speed of 81km per hour. According to the regional meteorological department, north Bengal will witness heavy rainfall on Sunday.

The lightning incident in Bengal was followed by similar incidents in UP and Bihar where around 125 people lost their lives and majority of the people killed were labourers or farmers.
