Lockdown 4.0: The government has extended the nationwide lockdown for two more consecutive weeks till May 31. The lockdown 4.0 imposed with some significant relaxations.
According to the guidelines issued by the ministry of home affairs, barbershops, salons, shopping complexes, and markets can now open starting Monday. Whereas, domestic flights, schools/colleges, and hotels will remain shut throughout the country.
Even the government has allowed the movement of inter-state for passengers with vehicles and buses with the mutual consent of states.
Earlier today in Maharashtra and Tamilnadu, Punjab and Mizoram extended the lockdown 4.0 in their states till May 31. Whereas, Telangana has already extended till May 29.
Lockdown 4.0 announced today
The nationwide lockdown came into impact on March 23 for the first time for 21 days. Later it was extended on April 15 for 19 days till May 3, then it was extended for May 17, and again with time, Lockdown 4.0 came into effect and got extended for two more weeks. As India entered today into the 54th day of the lockdown, the total number of COVID-19 cases in India rose to 90,927, which surpassed China’s tally and took the death toll to 2,872 on Sunday. China has a total of 84,649 cases and stopped adding new cases to its list for the last two months.
