Nepal landslides: As monsoon season kicks in, landslides triggered by the downpour on Friday killed 12 and around 30 people are missing in Nepal due to multiple landslides occurring in the muddy regions of Nepal.
About three children have lost their lives due to the muddy landslides in Nepal in the Sarangkot and Hemjan districts of Pokhara, 125km away from the capital city of Kathmandu. The city Pokhara is known for its muddy hills and is a tourist spot for trekkers.
48-hour downpour has led to an increase in the water levels of the main rivers- Narayani and five seasonal ones, which have led to consequences of Nepal landslides.
Nepal Landslides: Rescue mission underway
Houses have been swept away in the neighbouring villages of Pokhara due to continuous downpour, and five of the family members have been killed in the very same incident.
Nepal Landslides have created huge panic and havoc state in the country, and as 30 people are missing, search for them around the areas are being continued. However, due to landslides, the roads have been blocked, and the rescue operation is quite difficult.
As per the India Metrological department, it is the set of monsoon, and the rains will continue over the weekend. Due to the heavy rainfall, even Assam, and other northeastern states are on high alert as to the flood warning.
