Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Atma Nirbhar UP Rojgar Abhiyan today to provide jobs to 1.25 crore migrant workers and other people who lost their jobs during the COVID-19. The Atma Nirbhar UP Rojgar Abhiyan was launched by PM virtually.
As per reports, the Atma Nirbhar UP Rojgar Abhiyan will cover around 31 UP districts where more than 30 lakh migrant workers returned after the lockdown started. UP Cheif Minister Yogi Adityanath also participated in the virtual launch.

The Atma Nirbhar UP Rojgar Abhiyan is a part of Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan that began on June 20 for 116 districts in six states. As per govt officials, the Atma Nirbhar UP Rojgar Abhiyan will provide jobs, promote local entrepreneurship, and will create partnerships with industrial organisations to create job opportunities.
According to govt officials, there will be 25 categories of work for skilled and unskilled workers and a target has been set by various departments to provide work. However, it will be interesting to see does this Abhiyan actually helps the poor in this situation.
