Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation today after his May 12th speech. In his speech, PM Modi asserted the BJP government is working upon the ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ scheme. The One Nation One Ration Card scheme will be implemented soon that migrant workers who are stuck in other states can get the benefit of the Public Distribution System.
Currently, ration cards are used by people state-wise but now this scheme One Nation One Ration Card will help people to get the benefit of the Public Distribution System in every state. The decision was taken by the government after observing conditions of migrants who are stranded in different states with no food and livelihood.
PM to soon implement One Nation One Ration Card scheme
The government nationwide announced lockdown in March-end due to which migrants were not able to travel to their villages. Later, special trains and buses were also organized but till then migrants had no work and food to feed their family.
However, considering their situation the govt has decided to launch One Nation One Ration Card scheme for poor workers. In his speech today, PM also mentioned that a sum of Rs 90,000 crore will be spent on Garib Kalyan Yojna which has been extended till November for poor. He also added that free food will be provided to these families.
