Postal ballots: As per the latest reports, people over the age of 65 and people who are infected or have symptoms of COVID-19 will be allowed to vote in elections via postal ballots. Recently, the government imposed the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961.
The decision was taken ahead of Bihar elections but many health advisors have asked senior citizens over the age of 65 to stay at home as they are more vulnerable to deadly coronavirus. Due to the pandemic political activities have been suffering a lot.

It should be noted that earlier postal ballots were only used by armed forces and officials assigned poll duties. However, in February elections Delhi became the first state to use postal ballots. The postal ballot facility was convenient for people with severe disabilities or who are above 80 years of age.
It should be noted that coronavirus cases have increased rapidly in Bihar. Till now, Bihar has reported around 10,000 cases and 62 deaths. The cases in the state rose after the deadly wedding in which the groom was suffering from COVID-19.
