According to Indian researchers, physical distancing more than 6 feet may be essential to prevent the deadly coronavirus from the transmission as respiratory droplets travel from 8 to 13 feet before evaporating without wind, it also depends on the ambient condition.
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, Karnataka, researchers also noted that coronavirus is transmitted through respiratory droplets when infected people talk, cough or sneeze hence physical distancing really helps.
The team of Indian researchers made a mathematical model for COVID-19 early phase using evaporation characteristics and aerodynamics of respiratory droplets. According to the research published in Physics of Fluids journal, respiratory droplets play a major part in transmitting the deadly virus, the droplets of an infected person were also compared to a healthy person.
Physical distancing over 6 feet important: Researchers
However, the transmission also depends on the type of atmosphere but physical distancing more than 6 feet is a must, and wearing a mask helps to curb the spread of coronavirus. It should be noted that tiny droplets can survive in the range of 18-50 microns.
As per Indian researchers, this research will be helpful in terms of the reopening of schools and offices.
