Tamil Nadu boiler explosion: As per reports, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Edappadi K Palaniswami has announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the families of victims who lost their lives in a boiler explosion at Neyveli Lignite Plant.

A sum of Rs 1 lakh will be given as compensation to those who are badly injured and Rs 50,000 will be given to people who suffered from minor injuries. The boiler explosion killed 6 people and around 17 people were severely injured.

TN boiler explosion: CM announces compensation to kin of victims 

As per officials, the sex men who died in the boiler explosion were aged between 25 and 42 years and the injured employees have sustained at least 40% burn injuries. The incident took place in Tamil Nadu’s Neyveli Lignite Power Plant stage 2 and the injured men were taken to NLC Lignite Hospital quickly.

After the news broke out, Home Minister Amit Shah expressed grief on the matter and offered help to control the situation. Shah also said that CISF men have been sent for the relief work.
