According to reports, US President Donald Trump is thinking to suspend all work visas including an H-1B visa. Trump’s administration is planning to take this step as there is a rise in unemployment in America due to the novel coronavirus.
It should be noted that the H-1B visa is granted by the American government to foreign professionals which includes India as well. If Trump considers the ban on an H-1B visa, it will affect many people including Indians.
Trump may ban H-1B visa due to COVID-19 pandemic
As per the Wall Street Journal report, the ban on visas and H-1B visa will start from the new fiscal year which is October 1, and till that time all work visas will be issued. If it happens, nobody from outside will be able to work in the US. However, those who are already working in the US will not be affected by the decision.
The COVID-19 pandemic has already taken millions of jobs due to which many Indians are returning back. If the proposal is passed, many IT professionals will get affected. However, no official statement has been made by the US government and they are still considering all options to protect the US.
