Simhadri
Action-drama Simhadri was a Tarak’s second collaboration with filmmaker SS Rajamouli after Student No 1. After the failure of back to back Allari Ramudu and Naga, Rajamouli visited Tarak’s place to rescue Simhadri, and the film proved as the biggest blockbuster of that time. Tarak plays a good-hearted Simhadri role with a violent past. The film was a quintessential masala drama with a lot of action drama in it, but it managed to extract the best out of Tarak quite early in his career. 

Yamadonga
It was his third and even more successful with Rajamouli in Yamadonga, Tarak aka Jr NTR, played the role of a petty thief who was killed before his time, and he gets to know when he reaches Yamlok. The film is an action-comedy that follows Tarak’s character, who takes revenge from Yamraj for killing him before his time.

Temper
In Puri Jagannadh’s Tempel, Tarak played a foul-mouthed cop role with no ethics. The film was penned by a section of critics for such as rape as an excuse for the hero’s transformation. However, keeping the controversy aside, the film delivers Tarak’s one of his performances. The film was remade in Bollywood as Simmba with Ranveer Singh.

Jai Lava Kusa
In Jai Lava Kusa, Tarak was seen playing triple roles. As Jai, the character with grey shades and a stutter, The story of three triplet brothers – modeled after Ram, Lakshman, and Bharath-separated by fate, only to meet much later in life. It was a joy to watch Tarak shine in three roles, and he plays them so convincingly and yet differently.
