Veteran actor Rajinikanth recently took to social media and gave a strong statement on the Tamil Nadu death case. In his post, Rajinikanth demanded strict action against the accused involved in the case.
The shocking incident is about a father and son duo in the Tuticorin district. They were arrested by the police for opening their mobile shop during the lockdown. Later, father P Jayaraj (59) and son J Bennicks (31) were taken to the police station and were beaten to death during custody in Kovilpatti sub-jail.
Shocked by the incident, many people have spoken up about the same and recently Rajinikanth condemned the act of cops and said everyone related to the incident should be punished.

As per reports, Jayaraju and Benicks were tortured by police and were later admitted to Kovilpatti government hospital. The incident took place on June 19 and the son died on the same night whereas the father died on June 23 morning.
According to the Judicial magistrate M S Barathidasan report, there were stains of blood on the lathis and table and both father and son were tortured through the night. The report also says that camera footage was unavailable as it was set on auto delete. He also mentioned that police staff did not cooperate during the investigation.
After Barathidasan’s complaint, one inspector and two sub-inspectors were suspended. Apart from that, DCP and constable are facing contempt case against them. The horrific incident has let to political battles in the state.
