International Yoga Day 2020: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) performed yoga in North Sikkim at an altitude of 18,800 feet. People across the country are celebrating International Yoga Day 2020 today, many were seen performing yoga asans indoors or outdoors as this year’s theme says “Yoga at home and Yoga with family”.
It was surprising to see Sikkim and Ladakh security personnel performing yoga sub-zero temperatures. If you have not seen the photos yet, take a look here. In North Sikkim and Ladakh, ITBP personal performed Yoga in freezing weather at an altitude of 18,000 feet.
Here’s how security personal performed International Yoga Day 2020
Apart from ITBP personal, photos of Indian Army’s Jammu Kashmir Light Infantry (JKLI) Battalion are going viral on the internet where they are seen performing Yoga Rangreth of Srinagar. In Uttarakhand, ITBP troops performed Yoga in Auli at an altitude of 10,000 feet.
In the spirit of International Yoga Day 2020, many politicians also performed Yoga asans and pranayama including President Ram Nath Kovind, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, BJP President JP Nadda and Union Ministers Prahlad Patel, Giriraj Singh, Prakash Javadekar and others.
It should be noted that today is the 6th edition of International Yoga Day 2020 and a lot of people across the country took part in it. PM Modi proposed the idea of this day back in 2014 when he took charge as a PM. However, International Yoga Day is celebrated every year after 2014 on June 21st.
