The much-talked-about and keenly-awaited film KGF – Chapter 2 hit screens a week ago. Featuring a massive release across 10000 screens worldwide, along with a multi-lingual format the film was expected to open on a high note. Living up to expectations KGF 2 opened with a bang drawing in over Rs. 50 cr on Day 1. Now at the close of its first week, the film has managed to cross not just the Rs. 100 cr and Rs. 200 cr mark, but has made it past Rs. 250 cr.

Collecting Rs. 268.63 cr KGF 2 has managed to beat the SS Rajamouli directorial Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion which collected Rs. 247 cr to emerge as the highest opening weekend grosser among Hindi dubbed releases. Besides this, the business of KGF – Chapter 2 has recorded better collection figures than other previous releases as well, like 2.0 which collected Rs. 139.75 cr, RRR which collected Rs. 132.59 cr, Saaho which collected Rs. 116.03 cr, Bahubali – The Beginning which collected Rs. 46.77 cr, Kabali which collected Rs. 28 cr, and Pushpa: The Rise which had collected Rs. 26.89 cr.
Going forward, KGF – Chapter 2 still enjoys the audiences’ favour and is expected to hold steady at the box office despite competition from the new release in the form of the Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey. In fact, trade predictions state that KGF 2 will certainly cross the Rs. 300 cr mark by the end of its second weekend.
