Hariyali Teej 2020: This year, Hariyali Teej will be celebrated by devotees tomorrow on July 23rd, 2020. The holy festival is observed after the arrival of monsoon season annually to celebrate nature during the special month of Sawan.
The auspicious festival plays an important role in the Hindu culture and devotees especially women offer prayers to Goddess Parvati in order to protect their husband. They also thank the Goddess for the monsoon. Women across the country celebrate the festival by wearing bright clothes, singing, dancing, and applying Mehendi on their hands.

Hariyali Teej is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The holy festival is also known as Sindhara Teej or Shravan Teej as it falls in the month of Sawan. People celebrate this festival because Lord Shiva chose Paravati as her wife on this day. On this day, many unmarried girls pray to marry a husband of their choice.
The festival is named Hariyali Teej because of the monsoon season which brings greenery. The festival also shows the richness of married life. Women across the country fast for their husbands well being and long life. Ghewar, coconut laddoos, sabudana kheer, and aloo halwa also prepared on this day.
