Former Pakistan bowler Aqib Javed recently accused his former teammate Salim Pervez involved in match-fixing. Aqib Javed was a part of Pakistan’s World Cup-winning team in the year 1992 and got retired in 1998 from cricket.
As per reports, Aqib Javed said his teammate Salim Pervez contacted him with the bookies for match-fixing. He also alleged that players who were involved in match-fixing were given expensive cars and a huge amount of money.
Aqib Javed claims Salim Pervez introduced him to bookies
The report was given by a Cricket Pakistan report where Aqib accused Salim. The report also says that bookies gave him a warning that if he didn’t follow the instructions his career will be destroyed. According to Aqib, Parvez used to introduce all his team maters to the bookies.
It should be noted that Salim Pervez died in April 2013. Talking about Aqib Javed, he only played the ODI match for Pakistan against West Indies in 1980. He also said in the interview that he got stuck to his values which made his career suffer but he has no regrets as match-fixing is a wrong practice for any cricketer.
