The ban on saliva on the ball has disheartened many players as they think it will be a big disadvantage for spinners and fast bowlers and will work in the favour of batsman.

Yuzvendra Chahal, team India leg spinner thinks that the ban on saliva will make fast bowlers and the spinners helpless. Chahal also feels that he won’t be able to give drift in the middle overs.

Ban on Saliva: Yuzvendra Chahal not convinced with ICC’s decision

In an interview with ESPN Cricinfo Yuzvendra Chahal said saliva on the ball helps fast bowlers to get spinners to drift and swings which will not be possible now after the ban on saliva. He also added that this will be a big advantage for batsman but affect fast bowlers in the world. Chahal said he will find a solution to this once he starts playing.

Chahal also compared Virat and Rohit’s aggressive instincts to the use of saliva, as per him both are necessary for a match and to perform better.

The ban on saliva has got many opinions but it should be noted that the step has been taken by ICC to protect the players from deadly coronavirus. The ban was necessary to save their lives.
