Darren Sammy claims he was called Kalu by his teammates during IPL

Recently, former West Indies captain Darren Sammy took to social media and shared a post saying he was called Kalu by some of his teammates while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL Indian Premier League. Darren Sammy also alleged that he was not aware of the word and was a victim of racial remarks.

Without naming any of his teammates Darren Sammy mentioned his derogatory nickname on social media. He thought the name was a joke or something to create a healthy atmosphere but recently came to know about the meaning of the word.

However, in a post shared by Ishant Sharma, Darren Sammy’s claims can be confirmed as Ishant has used the word Kalu in his caption describing Sammy. The post is from 2014 and is going viral on social media. Have a look at the video shared by Darren Sammy.

After Darren Sammy’s post, it is a lesson for people who use such words for their friends or black people as black lives matter and such types of racist words should not be used to demean somebody’s color.
