As per reports, all 20 Pakistan players and 11 management personnel were tested negative for COVID-19 after arriving in Britain today. The England and Wales Cricket Board stated that England players and management have been tested three times for coronavirus till now and results are negative.
After clearing coronavirus tests, 6 more Pakistan players will be allowed to join the tour as per ECB’s announcement. However, four Pakistan players were tested positive for COVID-19 and now they will have to stay in Pakistan for treatment.
As per Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Hasnain, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, and Fakhar Zaman can travel to England and join the team as all six of them were tested negative for COVID-19 test which took place on June 26th.
4 Pakistan players tested corona positive
However, four Pakistan players Imran Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Haider Ali and Haris Rauf were tested positive for the second time and have been barred to travel to England until they get better. Before joining the team all 4 players have to report two consecutive negative tests.
It should be noted that Pakistan will be seen playing against England in August for three Tests and three Twenty20 internationals but the exact dates are not confirmed yet. Pakistan players arrived in England yesterday and have been quarantined for 14 days as per the guidelines.
