Recently, Former all-rounder, Vijay Bharadwaj talked about India’s disastrous tour of Australia in 1999 which destroyed his confidence and led to downfall of his career which had taken off with a bang. Vijay Bharadwaj marked his debut during the 1999 LG Cup in Kenya and also won the title of Man of the Tournament after scoring 89 runs and taking 10 wickets.
All-rounder Vijay Bharadwaj was a part of the toughest Australian tour in 1999 which was hard for the best three players of the Indian cricket team including Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and Sourav Ganguly. Bharadwaj was the youngest and had no idea how to deal with the situation.

Vijay Bharadwaj said it was one of the toughest tour and players didn’t perform their best, Sachin Tendulkar who was also the captain scored less and other players of the team who were playing for 5-6 years also underperformed. He also added that he played only one Test match in Kiwis and got out at the first ball.
In the Australia tournament, the Indian team lost 3-0. Vijay Bharadwaj added the whole team was devastated and under pressure, even Sachin didn’t understand what was happening. Later, in Syndey Test Bharadwaj got badly injured and was bedridden for one and a half years, he felt totally lost.
